I was excited over my purchase, as one of many buy to let property. I thought if I pay more like 2000, they must be super good, fast, responsive and reliable but turned out I have to chase every single week since past 4 month. If I call or email either I would be ignored or would get a response following week. I think big firms like lightfoot have to much work, that's why they can afford to do this. Just hope they finish my work or I might have to transfer everything to different firm.

Lightfoots were imposed on me by my lenders restrictive solicitor panel. They have charged me 770 + VAT which is 220 more than my usual solicitors. I have been dealt with by seven different individuals, had repeated request for the same documents, they have mislaid post and have generally offered a rather perfunctory service. They seem to want to do as little as possible for as much as possible. They get two stars because at least they haven't lost me any money. Yet. Update: I am now having to drive on a 308 mile round trip to hand deliver the signed documents. Despite having been sent three times, they claim never to have received them. They put it down to "problems with the post"
