Amethyst really have restored my faith in letting agents! I've had some bad experiences but I've been a tenant with amethyst for over 2 years now and Pauline and Barry (and all the other staff) have been so welcoming and helpful throughout. If there's an issue it gets sorted with no blame games. If there's confusion or misunderstanding, they communicate in a professional and understanding way and always work for the best interests of both the land lord and the tenant.
I recently had a change of landlord with the house being sold and they were very conscious of me and my situation throughout the process which went smoothly and I was barely affected. They make me feel like a valued tenant. A lovely family business they have.

Viewed a house, pressured to put holding deposit down, done that, an issue came up in my partners referencing which we explained (blended family, his ex owed money to a property but he's had to pay it off as he worked and she didn't and he was on the tenancy after the split), told if we paid what was owed we could continue with letting the property so within 45 mins, paid what was owed on said property for him to tell us they've found somebody else after saying once the issue was sorted the house was ours. Would never use amethyst again.

Excellent service. I was looking for a buy-to-let and Lee listened to what I was looking for rather than just showing properties, like some other agents. He found an excellent candidate with a tenant in situ. The property is perfect. I was also impressed with the engagement Amethyst had with the solicitors involved making the whole process as smooth as possible. I will certainly use them again, service is tailored and personal.

This is the first private property I have ever rented out. Although I was very new to renting I must say I am very happy that this was the first place I rented since the property was nice and spacious, fully furnished and very close to my workplace. The agency is very friendly (especially Pauline and Barry) and respond to issues and queries pretty quickly. I would definitely rent from them again. I did not have any issues mentioned in other posts but then again everyone's experience is different.

Pauline and her team, Barry and Lee, were very friendly and professional while viewing properties and throughout my tenancy! Quick to reply to phone calls/emails and always available when needed. No issues with move out or return of the deposit - so much better than other letting agents I have dealt with in the past. I would 100% recommend this company.

Pauline and her team have rented my properties for 9 years. During this period my properties have always been occupied. Their communication is exemplary (I live in Essex), contacting me either by phone or email whenever there is an issue, to agree a prompt solution for my tenants. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this company to both landlords and tenants, especially when I have heard of some of the experiences of friends and colleagues.

Pauline and her team are the most professional letting agents I have ever come across. My properties are very well managed and have been for the past 10 years. i have been approached by other agencies but I would never consider changing from Amethyst. If you want professionalism, experience, commitment and great customer service then Amethyst is the place for you.

The worst agency I have dealt with! The staff is very incompetent also they are liars. They will overcharge you with fake damages just to take a little bit of money from your deposit. Also, they hold your deposit for weeks ! Don't do business with them. Dishonest agency!

Absolutely disgraceful. Due to complete unprofessional, inadequate, pitiful mismanagement we pulled out of the let. They refused to refund our deposit and when we tried to escalate it we were repeatedly verbally abused or had the phone put down on us. When we finally got hold of them they tried to accuse us of forgery and threatened to press criminal charges. Although they finally apologized for the disgraceful unsubstantiated comments quoting it was a misunderstanding over the paperwork in the office, we never got our money back. I have never dealt with a company that allows its employees to treat potential customer so appallingly and speak to them so rudely. Please never be tempted to use this agent!
