We felt that Essex needed an agent who delivered an honest and professional service to both Buyers, Sellers, Tenants and Landlords at a realistic price. Avoid CmRENT at all costs deeply unprofessional and unreliable
CmRENT have been an absolute nightmare to deal with. I strongly advise both landlords and tenants to avoid this company entirely.
They have withheld deposits from both landlord and tenant for over two months, despite both parties agreeing in writing on how the deposit should be handled. There is no dispute, yet the money is still being held with no resolution in sight. This is unacceptable and raises serious concerns about their processes and professionalism.
Communication is appalling. When properties were advertised, CmRENT failed to answer the phone for extended periods, not only to potential tenants but also to the landlord. This actively harmed viewings and interest and showed a complete lack of care or urgency.
The agent was given multiple opportunities to resolve the issues or take appropriate action. Each time, nothing meaningful happened. I was forced to put everything in writing just to get even basic responses, and even then every interaction was met with resistance, delays, or deflection.
What makes this even more disappointing is that CmRENT used to provide a perfectly acceptable service. That is no longer the case. The current operation is disorganised, obstructive, and unprofessional from start to finish.
If you value your time, your money, or your sanity, do not use CmRENT. There are far better agents out there. Avoid at all costs.

I recently had a viewing with CM Rent and Sales, and while the flat wasnt quite right for me, the team was great!
Leyla, was incredibly kind and helpful throughout the process. She took the time to answer all my questions and made me feel comfortable, which I really appreciated as it was my first viewing.
I also had the pleasure of speaking with Sally, the manager, who thoroughly explained the entire lettings process. Her clarity and professionalism helped put my mind at ease.
The whole team demonstrated a fantastic level of service, and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to rent.

I wanted to view a property again for rental, and sally was brilliant in scheduling this in as quickly as possible. Also with all her help in the final steps was very supportive. Awful company, have had a leak and heating issue since I have moved in which remains unfixed. They delay and deny constantly leaving my 3 year old and I with no effective heating and a property full of damp. The agents are inhumane, making you feel like you are the problem for complaining. They lie constantly and you have to repeatedly report the same issues.
They get opinions from contractors and chose the one that suits them without fully investigating issues. I had a power flush done in Jan and I have been desperately trying to get them to look at it again, two British Gas engineers said it failed when attending on the other issue and yet they only took the view of the people who did it and categorically told me it was fine.
Now the boiler has broken as it is so full of sludge. I complained to head office and they said they weren't aware of issues I had reported repeatedly and even had their replies! Then went on to say whilst they accepted there were delays there's no evidence this would have made things worse. leaving a leak and not fixing it won't make it worse?!? They will not accept any fault. These people should be ashamed of themselves

We had the opportunity to discuss our conditions with Alicia Osborne Carey from CM Lettings today. She is by far the most diligent, kind and responsive agent I have ever spoken to. She went the extra mile and pushed the limits of her service to ease our concerns. After having spoken to many cheeky and rude people from so-called reputable agencies, Alicia was a breath of fresh air. HIGHLY recommend!

I really wonder how reliable/true are these five star review ratings given for this rental agency. I'm currently rented in a house from CM rentals and living here with my 1 year old child with no hot water and heating in this winter times for more than two weeks now. And whenever I contact their repairs team, they have one or the other excuse for not repairing/ replacing the boiler unit. Also, this is not the first time.they were always been this since the beginning of my tenancy.

We had to move due our landlord selling because of the Covid Pandemic. Everything we did from taking calls, having a viewing & handing over the keys was made to work like clockwork thanks to Emily & Sophie. Agency takes weeks to fix issues, leaving us for 3 weeks without a working front door which was a fire Hazzard, and over 7 weeks without access to our garage where we had food in our freezer. This also delayed our ability to move property. Staff seem very friendly and make all sorts of promises but fail miserably at delivering any sort of resolutions.
Also made us pay 100 fee for guarantor fees which wasn't needed, but they refused to refund. Thank God for Covid as we were able to live out our 6 weeks deposit as they wanted to deduct money for issues that were there before we moved in and even made a few things up! Sharks, unprofessional agency who only care to keep the landlord happy! Stay away!
