| Job description: | Leeds University is now recruiting a Students’ Lettings Agency Manager with strong and proven sales experience. The successful candidate will manage and develop an up and coming business and grow it into a successful, market leading unit. The organisation is part of the University of Leeds Students’ Guild which seeks to provide high quality letting and property management services within the local area of Headingley/Hyde Park. |
| Duties & Responsibilities: | To succeed in this role as a Lettings Manager you will be expected to: * To maintain systems for effective operation of the lettings service. * To promote the service to owners of suitable properties and to ensure that the properties and landlords accepted meet the standards set. * To liaise with landlords, make recommendations on necessary improvements, organise repairs if appropriate. * To liaise with relevant staff to ensure that services provided complement other areas of the organisation. * To work to ensure that financial targets are met and to report any concerns to the line manager. * To ensure that all banking and cash handling procedures are adhered to at all times. * To promote available properties to students and to ensure that all tenants are aware of their rights and responsibilities. * To deal effectively with student queries (both prospective and actual tenants) and to seek offer options to tenants facing rent arrears or other housing problems. * To ensure swift response to any housing repairs in direct proportion to the urgency of the problem * To be responsible for the monitoring of rent payments and the collection of rent arrears. * To liaise with student tenants on a regular basis and to seek to resolve any problems. |
| Skills, Qualifications & Experience Required: | The ideal Lettings Manager will possess: * An ARLA or NAEA Qualification, or evidence of appropriate courses attended and completed in Lettings. * Proven experience of driving sales forward, people management and planning, delivering and reviewing procedures. * Excellent negotiating, problem solving, communication and analytical skills. * A proven background in a similar environment within a lettings company is essential. * Significant sales experience. |
