After having first hand dealings with this company I would never go anywhere near them again. All they want to do is make money for the landlord as after all if the landlords not happy he or she will go else where and the letting company will lose out. They won't help you sort problems out. They are rude and ignorant and really don't care what you think.

As an example they are trying to charge me for emptying a green and black wheelie bin which somebody has put rubbish in after I vacated a premises I was renting. Correct me if I'm wrong but the council empty these bins....don't they! That's how petty they are when you leave a property. They are so quick to take your money but they don't like giving it back. I'm sure they aren't all the same but avoid Martin & Co in Basingstoke.

Very happy with Martin & Co. I rented a 1 bed property in Basingstoke and the entire process from the viewing to getting the keys was painless. Lindsey was early to the initial viewing appointment, knowledgeable about the property and a great point of contact throughout. There was never any issue getting in touch, and I was kept well informed (on a few occasions outside of business hours too which I didn't expect). If I wasn't reachable via phone due to work commitments, I could count on getting an email instead. Really a breath of fresh air in comparison to other estate agents I've had to deal with, and the fees didn't seem unreasonable to me given the level of service.

The other folks in the office were great too when I popped in to sign the contract. Really welcoming bunch and they were happy to accommodate me arriving a few hours earlier than expected.

I only wish they'd consider something like DocuSign to make signing the contract a little easier, but you do need to go into the office anyway to do the right to rent checks and pick up the keys anyway so perhaps this is a moot point.

Would happily use them again and recommend to friends.

following the sale of our property we asked Martin & Co to assist us finding a bungalow to rent. The market for this type of property is very restricted. I was surprised about the speed that Martin & Co located a property for us and we agreed on the lease and moved in within a couple of weeks after all the required searches were completed. The speed that Martin & Co communicated with us really helped us to keep the stress of moving house to a minimum. We highly recommend Martin & Co Pontefract and its staff members and found them very professional and efficient

I decided to get Martin & Co to give me some advice on renting my property as I'm a newbie landlord. Andrew came round and took some photos and advised me on many points. I was very impressed with how professional he came across and was very happy that a tenant was found and the property was rented out within 24hrs. The whole process was very painless and i am very pleased with the full Management that they are supplying, will defiantly recommend.

The Lettings side of Martin & Co have to balance the competing demands of tenants and landlords to achieve a mutually acceptable, and one hopes, a long term arrangement. I have let my property through Martin & Co in Basingstoke for a number of years and from a landlord's point of view, have found little over that time for complaint. The members of the team, including Property management, have been prompt, professional and committed to providing the best solution for tenant and landlord alike. Having used other letting agents in the past in Basingstoke, I can confirm that there are indeed sub-standard operations out there but Martin & Co is not one of them!
