  • Incompetent staff, overcharges , liars

The worst agency I have dealt with! The staff is very incompetent also they are liars. They will overcharge you with fake damages just to take a little bit of money from your deposit. Also, they hold your deposit for weeks ! Don't do business with them. Dishonest agency!

Absolutely disgraceful. Due to complete unprofessional, inadequate, pitiful mismanagement we pulled out of the let. They refused to refund our deposit and when we tried to escalate it we were repeatedly verbally abused or had the phone put down on us. When we finally got hold of them they tried to accuse us of forgery and threatened to press criminal charges. Although they finally apologized for the disgraceful unsubstantiated comments quoting it was a misunderstanding over the paperwork in the office, we never got our money back.

I have never dealt with a company that allows its employees to treat potential customer so appallingly and speak to them so rudely. Please never be tempted to use this agent!

From Our Website

We have grown and become successful because we have become well known for the caring way we try to run our business and the warmth with which we treat all our customers. A wealth of experience and constant training are our greatest attributes and one after another of our satisfied customers - both Landlords, Tenants AND Contractors have passed on their gratitude and appreciation of their experience with us. I have been a client of Amethyst since December 2009 and am very happy with the service received.

There will always be a need for property to rent in the private sector, especially as most Local Authorities now have very limited stock available. That's all very well but most first time investors tell us it is a bit scary wondering if it's the right thing to do. Of course all Landlords want a good service from their Letting Agent but what does that really mean? That they are complying with all laws relating to being a landlord and renting property. Our services are based on these needs and our fees remain highly competitive.

When we have found you the property of your choice please remember you will need to make a formal online application for tenancy. The Tenant Referencing Agency will require ID to be uploaded and they will process your application including obtaining references from your Employer and current Landlord if applicable. They will also check your credit history. The time this process takes can vary from a day or two to a couple of weeks depending on how quickly your employer and landlord respond.
